BASIC SETUP/INSTRUCTIONS
1. Open RegEdit (Start -> type "regedit")
2. Browse to HKLM\Software\ (HKLM is short for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE)
3. Look for key "Canon".
a. If key doesn't exist, right-click on "Software", select "New", click "Key".
b. Type in "Canon".
c. When you're done, the status at the bottom should read "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon"
4. Under Software, look for key, "Canon_Inc_IC"
a. If key doesn't exist, right-click on "Software", select "New", click "Key".
b. Type in "Canon_Inc_IC".
c. When you're done, the status at the bottom should read "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon_Inc_IC "

PROGRAM SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS.
For each of the programs listed below, check to see if you have the right registry keys. If you don't have those values, create them. Note that they are like folders.
"Canon" is a key that contains a child key "ZoomBrowser Ex", which contains two child keys, "Settings" and "Install"
After you have ensured that these registry keys exist, run the updater/installer that you downloaded from the Canon site.

HKLM\Software\Canon_Inc_IC\ZoomBrowser EX\Install

Programs: Digital Photo Professional, EOS Utility, Picture Style Editor, RAW Codec
HKLM\Software\Canon\DPP
HKLM\Software\Canon\RAW Image Task
HKLM\Software\Canon\FileViewerUtility
HKLM\Software\Canon\EOSViewerUtility
HKLM\Software\Canon_Inc_IC\DPP

Program : Original Data Security Tools (ODST)
HKLM\Software\Canon\ODSK
HKLM\Software\Canon_Inc_IC\Original Data Security Tools

TESTED and CONFIRMED working on Windows 7 RC (Build 7100). I have no reason to think it won't work on all Windows Vista/Windows 7 flavors. If you are having issues with XP or another OS, let me know and I'll explain how to determine which registry settings you need.
